A multi-national home wares client decided that social would be their lead consumer channel and planned to create a considerable increase in content, for a rich “always on” social presence.
MCA were engaged to consult on this project due to the agency’s increasingly expensive and linear approach to their social content. Our client was looking for a far more more streamlined approach, increased quality and higher volume, within tight cost parameters.
MCA benchmarked the time taken and hourly rates quoted in the agency always-on social retainer. By working collaboratively, we persuaded them to reduce their time taken (and rates) in line with our wide-ranging experience of other clients’ approaches to similar social initiatives.
After extensive negotiation on process, the agency reduced their retainer resulting in a 45% saving in fee, allowing the client to reinvest in content creation and production. By re-allocating the high retainer fees to creative development, the client gained far more content, as well as a re-set relationship with their agency’s digital team.
Production and management of ‘always on’ social content as a new strategy.
